September Monthly Meeting - AIA WLS RECAP

Join us on Thursday September 24th at AIA SF 130 Sutter Street 12:30-2pm for highlights from the AIAWLS in Seattle (September 17-19th) and a visit with Justine Clark of Parlour: Women, Equity, Architecture.

We will also be discussing our 2016 Initiatives and Forming Steering Groups for the Research Project and EQxD Symposium Planning.

The 2015 Women’s Leadership Summit is a 2-day conference for women in positions of leadership. The Summit will focus on supporting women in leadership by providing a forum to recognize, inform, and champion the work being created by women in architecture.

The Summit is part of an ongoing national conversation for women in architecture. Goals include: raising the profile of women principals and leaders in the profession; sharing and promoting the design work of women; exploring new paths to leadership; learning from each other regarding issues and challenges.

Past summit themes:

  • 2009 - Chicago, IL:  stories of the paths of leaders in our profession
  • 2010 - New York, NY:  cultivating the next generation of leaders
  • 2011 - Kansas City, MO:  suggestions for our own paths within and toward leadership
  • 2013 - Phoenix, AZ:  ideas redefining leadership toward greatest impact

Rosa Sheng of Equity by Design will be presenting key findings of the 2014 Equity in Architecture Survey in a panel with Justine Clark of Parlour: Women, Equity, Architecture of Australia, Carol Wedge of Shepley Bulfinch, and Miguel del Rio of AIA National Diversity Council.
